Adaptation of A Rose for Emily

“Why are those buzzards still buzzing around my house,” thought Emily. She had just came from doing her same routine of sitting and watching the window, when her negro butler came and told her some white people where at her door.

” Let em in,” she said, Emily was getting tired of the letters she decided to nip this problem in the bud.

The negro butler opened the door and lot the white officials in . Emily listened to what they had to say, not welcoming them at all.

Her voice was cold as she said,””I have no taxes in Jefferson. Colonel Sartoris explained it to me. Perhaps one of you can gain access to the city records and satisfy yourselves.”

” Sticking bats, coming into my house with there hellish statements. I ought to call the police, but I’ll let the off this time,” Emily thought to herself.

“Gon send them white people off Tobe,” yelled Emily.

” Finally some peace and quite,” Emily said once the white officials where sent on their way.

Why is the sun so bright

Whats up peeps, I am a baby blogger who has just entered the blogging world. Originally this blog was a work assignment, but you know what, I’ve always wanted to make a blog. I believe blogs are a great way to spread a word or certain perspective on a certain topic. Many blogs focus on world things or just silly little everyday doings. Since me blog is new, for my first post I am going to speak on why the sun is soooooo hot.

If You did not know, the sun is so hot these days. I get all dolled up for school, and end up a sweating mess before I even make it on the bus! The kind of mornings I have on a sunny day are not the kind I like. But, I can’t say I would like it to be cold, definitley not that. The sun serves us in a huge purpose in life, giving food for plants and keeping the cycle on Earth going. However, does the sun have to be so hot. I know that the sun has a job to do, but really, I have a school to go to and I don’t want to get there smelling like I just came out of gym practice.

Altogether, the sun does help, a little. The sun wakes me up in the morning, and it keeps me from doing yard work. I mean the sun is also a horror to be in, but a life saver to get out of yard chores. I guess I could live wit the sun, but I would definitely need to bring some dove wit me to class. well that is all for today folks, join me next time were I am going to talk about why the air gets so cold in my room.

Introduce Yourself (Example Post)

This is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University. Enroll in one of our ten programs, and start your blog right.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus you own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
